An Evaluation of Hybrid Mattress Systems

The Invacare vision is to design, manufacture and deliver the best value in medical products that promote recovery and active lifestyles for people requiring acute, home and other non-acute health care. Invacare has a long standing reputation for providing patient centric products that have been designed in conjunction with clinicians and provide maximum clinical efficacy. We focus on assisting Healthcare Professionals with pressure ulcer prevention.

Over the last twelve months Invacare in conjunction with The Adelaide and Meath Hospital Dublin, conducted a study on the effectiveness of the Softform Premier Active 2 in a busy medical ward.

The report asked seven questions from the ability of the mattress to maintain skin integrity, to patient comfort and infection control amongst other. The overall result were extremely positive with considerable time reduction in upgrading a patients mattress requirements, along with improvements in manual handling and reports of excellent skin integrity.
