Invacare Softform Premier Active 2 Hospital Case
Invacare in conjunction with The Adelaide and Meath Hospital Dublin, conducted a study on the effectiveness of the Softform Premier Active 2 in a busy medical ward.
The objective was to evaluate the suitability of the Invacare support surface in reducing the incidence of pressure ulcers. Thirty one mattresses were installed and monitored over a twelve month period from July 2014 to June 2015. The results from staff on the ward are extremely positive, proving improved skin integrity and comfort for patients.
The concept of the hybrid allows for the surface of the Active 2 to convert from a standard foam mattress to a dynamic mattress with a simple plug and play pump. This reduced the reaction time of instigating therapy by twenty minutes.
