Invacare World Team Cup 2009 – a platform for the company
This year, more than 30 nations, 200 players and 150 additional guests will take part in the Invacare World Team Cup. However the IWTC isn’t just about tennis, Invacare has an exciting week planned and will be present at the Nottingham Tennis Centre with the Invacare Village. A symposium with well-known guest speakers and experts on the topic “Integration and Sports” will be held on Thursday 30th of July. Invacare is delighted to announce that Mr Martin McElhatton – IWTA President, will be the Chairman. Here the guest will be able to visit an Invacare show room with the newest Invacare, Küschall and Top End products and watch various sports demonstrations throughout the week.

Ambassador Rainer Küschall
The Invacare ambassador will be Mr Rainer Küschall. Rainer became quadriplegic after a swimming accident yet he continued to pursue his passion for sports, going on to win 21 Paralympic medals at 7 Paralympic games. Rainer later founded Küschall AG, a company creating revolutionary, light wheelchairs. Küschall AG is a subsidiary company of Invacare and Rainer will speak at this year’s symposium.

Invacare XPO2 is approved by FAA (USA) for airline travel

February the 5th, 2009

In the USA, the Federal Aviation Administration SFAR No. 106 has been amended to include the Invacare® XPO2™ portable concentrator for use onboard passenger aircraft.

The XPO2 combines the reliability and durability providers want with the clinical performance patients need to stay oxygenated during use.  Now that the XPO2 has been approved by the FAA, Invacare will approach individual airlines for their approvals regarding in-flight use of oxygen systems.

This new portable concentrator weighs only 2.9 kg and incorporates Sensi-Pulse™ technology, an innovative five-setting pulse dose oxygen delivery system that keeps oxygen patients saturated during all activities of daily living.  It operates from battery, AC or DC power. The two-and-a-half hour battery duration (at setting 2) may be doubled to five hours through the use of an optional supplemental battery that attaches easily to the carrying case. Other features include quiet, simple operation, and a contemporary, non-medical look, all of which are very important to oxygen patients.

Invacare walking frames in a famous musical

December the 3rd, 2008

The very popular Musical "The Producers" now being played in Stockholm until spring 2009 is featuring very special characters this year! Indeed several walking frames from the Invacare range have been selected and are now appearing nicely in a notable scene of this performance.
The musical team seems very happy with the Invacare walking frames which are, according to them, very easy to fold and play with during the show.
